9073 error!!!!!!
Hello
I am getting very random 9073 errors on my setup, it can occur when recording 2 channels of audio for 3 mins or sometimes the system will run fine at 48 channels for 3 hours. I don't run any plugins when recording and I've pretty much all of the recommended tweaks and fixes for MacOS. I think it could possibly be the FW drive I am using (details below) as when I swap the drive for an old Lacie one it runs fine. Here's the setup details New Mac Mini 4GB Ram OSX 10.5.6 2.14 Dual Core Pro Tools LE 8.0.4 Digi 002 with Octopre Platinum (providing synch over optical) G-Tech FW 800 Drive Manufacturer: G-TECH Model: 0x0 GUID: 0x30EA10E6040963 Maximum Speed: Up to 800 Mb/sec Connection Speed: Up to 400 Mb/sec Sub-units: OEM ATA Device 00 Unit: Unit Software Version: 0x10483 Unit Spec ID: 0x609E Firmware Revision: 0x110 Product Revision Level: Sub-units: OEM ATA Device 00 SBP-LUN: Capacity: 500.11 GB (500,107,862,016 bytes) Removable Media: Yes BSD Name: disk1 Partition Map Type: GPT (GUID Partition Table) S.M.A.R.T. status: Not Supported Volumes: Capacity: 209.7 MB (209,715,200 bytes) Writable: Yes BSD Name: disk1s1 Rack 1 G Drive: Capacity: 499.76 GB (499,763,888,128 bytes) Available: 497.41 GB (497,408,200,704 bytes) Writable: Yes File System: HFS+ BSD Name: disk1s2 Mount Point: /Volumes/Rack 1 G Drive The drive is bus powered if that can make a difference??? The chain I've have hooked up is [Mac mini--FW800--GTech--FW800to400--DIGI002]. I have tried swapping the chain round and it made things 10 times worse As I say I've tried pretty much everything such as reformatting the drive, trashing preferences, turning Spotlight search thing off, Airport off, Bluetooth off and not a dicky bird. Any help on this would be GREATLY appreciated as it's driving me nuts!!!! Cheers Dicky |

Re: 9073 error!!!!!!
As you pointed out yourself; when using a Lacie disk, everything runs fine!
It's a DAE error, which has something to do with the harddisk read and write speed (HDD bus load). So, it's probably a controller issue from the external disk. I've encountered those a lot in my previous job. Normally I would have it send back for repair and they usually replace the controller (the casing with it's connections). Notice: you need to back-up the disk before sending, as they usually format the drive after repair for a check they do at the end. Hope this helps. Greetings, Arjen |
