Waves TrueVerb

I'm looking into buying a good reverb plug-in. I'm favoring the Waves Native Power Pack with the TrueVerb plug-in simply because I can get six other plug-ins for the price of one. [img]images/icons/smile.gif[/img]

How does TrueVerb sound? I really like the sound of RealVerb from KOL. How is TrueVerb in comparison? I think Digidesign's D-Verb is pretty bad. Does TrueVerb sound better than D-Verb? How much better?

Trueverb is a very nice smooth sounding reverb. I couldn't say whether it's better than Realverb or not as i don't use Realverb, but Trueverb is my favourite of all the native reverbs that I've tried.

On the subject of Waves plug ins the Rennaisance compressor is very good with a very intuitive interface, and if you start using the L1 limiter, after a while you'll wonder what you did without it - it's that good.

didn't 002 buyers get a bunch of stuff from waves with our 002s? i can't seem to find any of my waves stuff. i have dverb and it's not the most impressive tool in the kit ;-)

Well, D-Verb is ok when you consider that it's free. If I paid a bunch of money for it and then heard what it sounds like I'd feel a little ripped off.

As I say, I've used RealVerb before and I like it but it's not OS X ready yet and it will likely be pretty expensive when it comes out (now as DreamVerb from U-Audio). I'd much rather spend my $400 on something like the NNP and get 7 plug-ins. But I'm really looking for a reverb, so I don't want to be dissapointed. Any body have TrueVerb and D-Verb that would be willing to post some A/B comparisons?

Wellll....I always use TruVerb on the drums (recorded from "chip's Not Live Drums) and the Q6 with Bass Tilt...
I just mastered and "What A Drum Sound"!!!!

Ok--Excuse my enthusiasm...I have always used RealVerb AND Dverb on my Vocals...This is a killer sound if you Only use the "non-lin" on the Dverb (for slap)...

I have not liked The truVerb or Ren Reverb for Vx...

I finished my project in OS 9.2.2 because RealVerb is Not ready yet...

I think Waves make some spectacular plug ins, though I don't think Trueverb is one of them . I find the RenVerb far nicer. In fact, the whole Rennaissance pack is well worth considering.

No comparisons but I can tell you that trueverb for sure blows dverb away. Plus the other plugs are great. L1 rules.

I own Realverb and have mixed a number of sessions with the Waves verbs. Realverb is great for what I paid for it(special GC deal) but Trueverb and Renverb blow it away. Ren.verb being the big gun here, but Trueverb giving very pleasing results on certain vocals and other things. The NPP is a great deal. I was going to go for it but I'm going to wait a bit and get the Gold. If you need Waves NOW get the NPP.

I picked up a Native Gold bundle for around $500 just over a year ago, so i get Truverb and Renaissance reverbs, plus all the other stuff. Waves really are great plugs but complete cpu hogs! especially the reverbs. I have to admit the Mac i use (G4 400 agp)is getting a little long in the tooth but i will upgrade when the G5 becomes available.
