Thanks

Re: Bounce To Movie ... but no Movie
Ran into this one the other day. Here's the solution:
Open the movie in QuickTime Pro first, then export it as a QuickTime movie. Then open it in Pro Tools and do your Bounce to Movie. |

Re: Bounce To Movie ... but no Movie
Funny it was all working fine at one point. Maybe it is some Quicktime Pro settings independant of Protools that doing this.

Re: Bounce To Movie ... but no Movie
We usually convert the quicktime file to a DV format in QT pro to use in ProTools (so picture would go thru firewire output to TV).
It was all working fine! SOMETHING HAS CHANGED ... that I don't see. So yes, problem = When I BOUNCE TO MOVIE the audio is there but not the picture ... when I play back the Quicktime file in the quicktime app. Thanks

Re: Bounce To Movie ... but no Movie
QT allows the equivalent of aliases to other QT files. So when you bounce to movie, a new QT file is created with the new audio but with an alias to the video file loaded into your PT session. If the original video file is not available, the picture will not play but the audio will. That's why the solution offered of exporting from QT pro solves the problem. It creates an independent copy of both the video and audio married into a new file. We use to have this problem when we bounce to movie and posted to internet for client previews. Using QT Pro, Cleaner, Adobe to export will solve the problem.

Quote:
In fact there is a progress bar that says "Saving Self-Contained Movie" The dialog occurs twice - i think it is making the audio tracks into a movie then combining it with the video track. |

Re: Bounce To Movie ... but no Movie
Wolfhounds' suggestion makes sense, but indeed: PT exports a selfcontained thing.
I ran into the same problem today: 6.1 bouncing to mpg-file in 48kHz... Could it be the mpg-codec playing up here ? Anyone figured this one out yet ?! Or is it a bug ?! |
