Default Pro Tools “Plugin Browser” and “ Custom Categories” ???

Am I missing something? I recently received this support mess age from a 3rd party plugin manufacturer regarding their plugins displaying in the wrong plugin category in Pro Tools 2024.6. I don’t believe options 2 or 3 are possible with version 2024.6. This is the response I received:

Thank you for reaching out to us. I appreciate the opportunity to assist you.

In Pro Tools, organizing your plugins by categories can significantly speed up your workflow. Here's how you can filter your plugins by categories:

1. Using the Plugin Menu in the Insert Slots

Go to the Insert Slot: On your track, click on an empty insert slot where you want to add a plugin.
Category Filtering: When the plugin menu opens, you'll see that Pro Tools organizes plugins by categories like "Dynamics," "EQ," "Reverb," etc. Hover over a category to see all the plugins under that category.
Manufacturer and Type: You can also filter by manufacturer or type if you're looking for a plugin from a specific developer or a particular type of effect or instrument.

2. Using the Plugin Browser

Open the Plugin Browser: If you prefer browsing all available plugins at once, you can open the Plugin Browser by pressing Shift + Command + N (Mac) or Shift + Ctrl + N (Windows). This browser allows you to filter plugins by category and type.
Search Bar: Use the search bar at the top of the Plugin Browser to quickly find a plugin by typing its name or category.
Tagging and Categorization: If your plugins aren't well-organized, you can manually tag them and create custom categories. Right-click on a plugin and select "Set Category" to organize it into the appropriate group.

3. Creating and Using Custom Categories

Custom Plugin Folders: If you want to create custom categories or folders for specific workflows, you can do this within Pro Tools.
Right-Click to Organize: Right-click on a plugin in the Plugin Browser, and you’ll have options to categorize it under existing categories or create new ones. This allows you to create custom categories like "Favorite EQs" or "Vocal Effects," making it easier to find your go-to tools.

4. Using the Plugin Menu Settings

Access Plugin Menu Settings: Go to Setup > Preferences > Display and check the box labeled "Organize Plug-In Menus By". You can choose "Category," "Manufacturer," or both, depending on how you want to organize your plugins.
Save Your Preferences: Once set, Pro Tools will remember your preferences, and your plugins will be organized accordingly every time you access them.
By following these steps, you should be able to filter and organize your plugins in Pro Tools by categories efficiently. This helps in maintaining a smooth and streamlined workflow.

Should you have any further questions, or concerns or require any additional information, please do let me know.

Again, options #2 and #3 would be wonderful features. When I responded to the plugin maker about this issue, they stated I would have to reach out to Avid.

It reads to me like that support used AI to generate an answer and it folded in suggestions that work in DAWs other than Pro Tools.

Yeesh. I saw the title, started reading, thinking that some plug-in dev had leaked a new feature. But yeah, it looks like a crappy "AI" response. So many companies are replacing their (1st-tier) support with AI.

It looks like an AI answer, but it's an anwwer with good ideas. Avid/STG should implement these ideas which is standard across DAW's.
Did any of it's suggestions work in Pro Tools 2024.6?
(I'm unable to test it because I'm stuck on Pro Tools 2019.12 waiting 4-5 years for bug PT-263050 to be solved so I can upgrade the entire studio)
