Default Pro Tools Keeps Crashing When I Change I/O

Hello Pro Tools Community:

This is Byron Nemeth, I would greatly appreciate any help with this problem that I am having if anyone can please chime in and offer best advice.

Every time that I switch the I / O in Mix view I keep getting the "Beach Ball" and Pro Tools "Freezes", so I have to "Force Quit".

I and running a very small session with 2 tracks and no plugins. Here is what I have done already in this order and this "Freeze" keeps happening.

#1: Reinstalled the entire Pro Tools Ultimate version 2021.12.0
#2: Reinstalled Universal Audio Console Software to Latest version
#3: Reinstalled and upgraded my Mac OS to (macOS Ventura version 13.6.2)
#4: I tried temporarily moving all the plugins to the "Plugin's Unused" folder to test the session and when I switched the I / O in Mix view it still "Freezes".

The only interface is the Universal Audio Apollo Twin | X, their is no other audio hardware,

The Mac is a MacBook Pro 16 inch, 2021 with the Apple M1 Pro Chip with 16 GB of Memory running macOS Ventura version 13.6.2.

I would appreciate any advice anyone can give, thanks so much everyone.

Minimum compatible version of PT with a MBP M1 Pro is 2022.4

MacBook Pro 18,x
Supported Processors:

2021 MacBook Pro "M1 Max" 10-core CPU / 24-core GPU 16"
2021 MacBook Pro "M1 Pro" 10-core CPU / 16-core GPU 16"
2021 MacBook Pro "M1 Max" 10-core CPU / 32-core GPU 14"
2021 MacBook Pro "M1 Max" 10-core CPU / 24-core GPU 14"
2021 MacBook Pro "M1 Pro" 10-core CPU / 16-core GPU 14"
2021 MacBook Pro "M1 Pro" 10-core CPU / 14-core GPU 14"
2021 MacBook Pro "M1 Pro" 8-core CPU / 14-core GPU 14"

Supported Software:
Pro Tools 2022.4 - Pro Tools 2023.9

from https://avidtech.my.salesforce-sites...rating-Systems

Ventura should be fine with 2022.4 - 2023.9 but not with 2021.12 as per table here:
https://avidtech.my.salesforce-sites...tibility-Chart

2021.12
macOS Mojave (10.14.6)
macOS Catalina (10.15.7)
macOS Big Sur (11.6)
macOS Monterey (12.3) added
- requires version 2022.2 of Avid plugins

Thank you Dominic, so I think what you are saying is that I have to upgrade my ProbTools Software to 2022.4.

Do you know what the cost is?

I'm not saying that's the problem, I'm just saying it's a doubly-unsupported configuration. So it might well be the problem. I think a lot of people here would recommend that you start by trashing preferences first. I use the free Pete Gates app to do this - https://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=340741 - but there are manual ways to do it too. (Direct Link to download) https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/...s%202.dmg?dl=1)

Pro Tools pricing is on the Avid website. Unfortunately it's a bit of a minefield, depending on what kind of license you orginally bought and which version you want to upgrade to, and whether you want Perpetual or Subscription and whether you want Intro, Artist, Studio or Ultimate.

Intro is free, so you could at least start with that and see of ythe updated vewrsion works with your Mac and OS.
