Beat Detective/Quantize Swing Beat
Ok, I know this is basic stuff, but please humor me...If I'm using beat detective or quantizing midi on a swing beat, how do I know how much swing to use? In Pro Tools, there is a swing drop-down menu with templates as well as a percentage slider to increase/decrease amount of swing. But, how do I know which percentage +/- of swing is appropriate? Seems like a trial and error game.
I assume higher percentage is pushing faster whereas a negative percentage is laying back? Would love some guidance here. Right now, I feel like I'm just guessing on the swing level and not really sure if I'm right. Thanks guys.

Re: Beat Detective/Quantize Swing Beat
You're allready right, it is a matter of trial and error. No one can tell you as much as your own ears can tell you. It's really just case by case.
