Default what format for quicktime movies in protools

Using a mac, I started with a .wmv movie, then converted it to Quicktime and saved it as a .mov file. Both video and audio played fine in Quicktime Player. When I imported the .mov file into Protools, the visuals still looked fine, but there was no audio track. What do i need to do to hear the audio? It's there somewhere.

Going back into Quicktime, i notice at least 10 choices for audio formats as options for saving a quicktime movie. Plus many chocies for video as well. Which ones do i choose, to optimally edit a movie sountrack in protools with good quality.

You need to save the audio as either aiff or wav, and from the 'Movie' dropdown on the menu bar in PT, select "Import Audio From Current Movie." If you've saved the audio as AAC (MPEG-4), you can use QuickTime Pro or iTunes to convert it to aiff or wav.

As far as codec to use for video, check out this thread.
