G5, Tiger, Waves IR 1, severe loss of power
Have any other G5, 002R, IR 1, owners noticed that when you switch to tiger you get alot less cpu performance when using IR 1. In Panther I used to get 5 full IR 1s in a 32 track project at 24 bit 96 khz, along with many other plugins! Now I can only use 1 instance of IR 1 at 24 48khz. I contacted Waves and they said they are trying to resolve this with Apple. Their website says"
Known Issues: G5 Computers load generic PPC process function rather then the fully optimized Altivec process. We are working with Apple to resolve this issue a.s.a.p. Until then the CPU usage on G5 running Tiger will be somewhat higher than on Panther. G4 processors load the correct optimized code." Does anyone know how long it will take them to resolve this, otherwise I will return to Panther. Blunt Arrow G5 Dual 1.8 002R Waves Mastering Bundle and IR 1 |
