Error AAE -6101 in Pro Tools 12

I have ranged from 8 tracks to 24 tracks mainly sometimes a little more! Before I updated the OS recording was smooth had the SC on mid way buffer and PT on 128 I believe and it was running great and going for a solid 4 hour session! It isn't the capture going wrong and I'm sure it's nothing to do with it. I'm pretty convinced that it was the update from Yosemite 10.10.3 to 10.10.4 that did it considering it worked fine the day before 10.10.4 was released! I updated the Mac and then used PT probably 5 hours later and the problem started occurring!

I believe that you are going to have problems unless the SC and PT show the same Buffer Size!

When I set it up I didn't touch the buffer settings on either! I only changed them when the error started happening

Bob,

If both PT and SC don't show the same buffer size, PTs round trip (record) latency correction won't work properly. So, newly recorded tracks won't be properly synchronized with previously recorded tracks. You will also miss the beginning of some recordings if PTs buffer is larger than the SC's!

Right okay they should both be on the same! Before the update when PT was running there where no issues at all! And the error probably happened 10 times before I started to change the buffer sizes

Did you try SetUp/MIDI/MIDI Studio

...and setup multiple clock sources? If I use Pro Tools Aggregate I/O and (in my case) click both Avid002 and One + Glidecompesation - this problem seems to reduce...

WHY????? did I leave PT 10??? - The 6101 error is killing me in latest PT 12- it's all over the place. I have a 12 core MacPro 3.46 with lots of Ram - SSD disk - and a very trimmed system and still.....every once in a while I am asked to increase the buffer which can't go any higher. Please fix the problem, thanks.

I've been working on this issue for a few days. I actually only received it when using Pro Tools Aggregate I/O when editing whilst travelling.

Hopefully this will be of use to some of you, but on 12.4, the issue for me seemed to be selecting "Minimize additional IO latency" under 'Playback Engine". As soon as I unchecked the box, the error vanished.

Yes - You are right. It solves the problem - Avid is working on the case (I have had several remote sesions and they are able to reproduce the problem) so something will show up.

The solution is to uncheck as you describe. I can still use my UAD interface then.
