Mbox mini 2 "turns off" after PT LE open.

Hello everyone,

This is my very first post here. Created this account to get some support and guidance on something I can't resolve myself.

I have been absent from recording for about two months due to school and work. I had some free time so I set my gear up and opened PT LE 8. Plugged in the USB to the laptop, the headphones, mic, external HD, etc.

Soon after launching PT the green USB light on Mbox went blank.

I managed to actually open a session once but no sound was coming out of the headphones.

Any other time an error message would show saying "PT could not set sample rate to specified value".
I have read feedback from other users who have posted online. Most of the resolutions were directed to PT9 and/or Macs or users with multiple playback engines.

My system: W7 64bit, Mbox 2 mini, PTLE 8 (8.0.4 updated).

p.s. i have ran this before on the exact same system with no problems. No updated/configurations were made to anything besides the standard windows updates.

Did you perform all the system tweaks, especially the one about turning OFF the power management feature on all USB ports(aka Root Hub in Device Manager)?

No I haven't.

My concern is that everything worked just fine. I have not done any updates to any of the hardware.

I'll try turning off the power management on usb ports tomorrow.

I actually had my board replaced a few months back now that I think about it.

Do I need to re install and entire PT/Mbox set up?

Unless it was the exact same model, revision and BIOS, then I would say yes(and you need to review every BIOS setting and every Windows tweak). Just because something works fine for a while, when its not running the correct settings, fine can turn to crap in a heartbeat
