Default 10.3.5 on a Mac; display and PB problems

Mac 10.7.5 - after upgrading to 10.3.5, I'm running into two problems.

Sometimes after recording, a portion of the file viewable on the timeline remains red. Eventually it turns to the proper track color.

Today I recorded on one track, edited the file, and consolidated it. It stayed light brown and would not output any sound when "played." I recorded another file on another track and it was fine. I recorded another file on the problem track, edited and consolidated and it was also fine.

Wazzup?

Question Re: 10.3.5 on a Mac; display and PB problems

Do you have Elastic Audio enabled on the track that is giving you trouble?

Do you have an HD license or the CPTK add-on? If so, is your Disk Cache (Settings-->Playback Engine) set to something other than Normal?

Are you recording to an external drive formatted as Mac OS Extended, Journaled?

Hmm,

no, but that's an interesting idea. I do have two external 400 FW drives attached for a separate project. I'll have to see how/if they are being impacted.

This is not a constant thing, but just popped up after I went to 10.3 and 10.3.5

Perhaps trashing the non prefs and other files would comb it all out. What teh name of that little app that does that?

Thanks,

Ty

It should be in a sticky at the top of the forum.
