888 with SPDIF Finalizer
I was wondering if I could get a little help on this.
I have a 888/24 and I want to run my TC Electronics Finalizer as a Insert on the Master Fader or put the whole Mix thru the Finalizer. Here's the problem, the SPDIF uses Channel 1 & 2 and so does the master fader. So i can't seem to get the Finalizer to loop with SPDIF... any suggestions? |

Re: 888 with SPDIF Finalizer
Yes, use another output pair as your master output. You'd have to change your current mixer settings, but you could set any other output pair as the default for new tracks in the i/o setup. Have fun.

Re: 888 with SPDIF Finalizer
Use hardware inserts 3&4 on the 888 and run the Finalizer via AES. (this woks unless you have ALL the AES i/o already tied up with other gear, have you?)
Or simply insert the Finalizer inbetween PT and a DAT player...or Masterlink Select DI for clock source Make sure it''s set to 24 bit De select dither (unless you want to use that function) Disengage the 10ms 'look ahead' delay on the dynamics sections when in an overdubbing situation unless you want timing nightmares.....and bear it in mind when making fader moves on a mix.
