mbox mini wont register with LE
when i try to start pro tools 8 i get a msg about a joe meek system not locating an i lock
My question is do I have to buy an ilok to operate protols 8.

Some of the plugin installers on the Protools CD are just there to make installation easier for people who purchase these plugins spearately. They are not all licensed with Protools. Some as you've discovered need to be used with an iLok USB dongle. Protools LE 8.x does not need an iLok for the Protools LE program.
