usually the files are too big. The session itself is no problem, but all the audiofiles pose a problem. Fins yourself some ftp-service, or something like www.yousendit.com

Not too big for gmail. But how can I create only one file from session? I supose winzip decreases sound quality.

Download WinRAR. In the settings, you can set it to zero compression for audio files. You can also manually set zero compression for any files by adding them to a list.

zip compression is a non-destructive way of compression. Unlike MP3 or the alikes. Use the highest compression you can with zip or rar.

I guess this fits in this thread. What files do I exactly need to ZIP or RAR and send. What directory does it come from and get put back into. I know this is pretty basic but I just want a simple answer.

winrar works great.......
in protools, open session then "SAVE SESSION AS" to your desktop(makes it easy to locate) then right click on file and choose "ADD to Archive" (if u have winrar installed) then email. it might be better if u can upload it to your on webserver and then email the other person the link.

It's my understanding that both winzip and winrar are looking to incorporate lossless codecs (like FLAC) for audio files, but haven't done it yet. The codecs they've been using recently are very similar to mp3 and wma iirc.

I was always under the impression that zip and rar were lossless, just that there were more efficient ways to do it. (smaller files)
digital compression is this info incorrect?
