Default Lacie 250 gig FW HD

Hi,

I've spent some time reading various threads and reformatting my external Lacie 250 gig Firewire drive and I just wondered if anyone could give me the final answer to my problem.

Is this drive no good for recording (it seemed to be okay at first) and should I go back to my Lacie 80G external FW and only use the 250G for archiving?

Any help from someone with experience of these drives would be very gratefully received.

Thank you!
