I remember the orginal thread. I'm glad to hear they they were convicted. I DO agree that the sentenece seems light. I'm sincerely sorry for your loss. No amount of time is going to bring your wife back.

I speakin from my own experience from losing my brother a few yrs ago, but I don't think we should keep harking on the happening over the Not Drinkin & driving & the Sentencing" as that sometimes can make things harder... Bender if it is OK with u then of course I say everyone keep it goin, but I jus kno, for me @least, (this was on Myspace) it jus made it harder for me than anything else...

Jus a thought...

I agree, but a much longer sentance could keep the drunk driver from doing the same mistake again.
2 and 1/2 years is an insult.

Condolences to Bender. I know how much is sucks to loose a close one.
Nature can seem cruel at times.

Just not right is it. We have some effective ads in the UK trying to show the human side to this topic, but really who knows if anything actually works to discourage people. I almost linked to them on YouTube but decided it wasn't really very sensitive of me to do so.

Thanks everyone I really appreciate it. While we do not know each other I do consider my DUC acquaintances like friends on some level.

Matt, feel free to post the link. Maybe someone will see them and think twice.
I am not against drinking just do it responsibly.

I'm speechless.

I could not begin to understand the pain you're going through.

Drink driving is cowardly. Lives are at stake. Lives that are not our right to take, let alone take because of drink driving.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, my brother.

I am so sorry to learn about this, prayers with you. I have ZERO tolerance for that sort of thing and it burns me up to hear of offenders that have had MULTIPLE DUI's. I say you get one, that's your last warning----some jail time, community service, and a hefty fine. Happens a second time, 10-years in prison and YOU DO 10-years. Sadly---it keeps happening and people get off.

We can mostly agree here. Driving drunk should be dealt with as attempted murder. It's not much different than firing a loaded weapon into a crowd.
