Default 002 PROBLEMS

o.k. doc. these are the simptoms what is the problem with my son?

2 hours of work on a new song. I "save copy in" to my fire wire hard drive. Shut down the 002 and the computer go have dinner.

Come back. Fire up the computer, the 002 start PTLE, open session, the softwear works great the session is open but the 002 is going nuts. The faders are moving up very slowly and after they stop nothing works. I shut down try again. Nothing this time I don't even get a message that the 002 is initializing. PTLE tells me it can't find digidesigns hardwear. I turn it off check my connections. Power, Fire wire, everything is ok. I'm pissed but I have some guys over to practice so I shut it all off. I try again later the DIGI comes up this time but still I can't control the session nor can I start a new one.

I need a reliable system I can't just loose 2 hours of work like that. I don't know about you guys but sometimes some things only come around once and I hate to lose a great arrengement because I can't remember it. I can't write music I need this thing to work.

Help me please.

mane: you will be amazed at Digi's customer service.

I admit - I was VERY frustrated with the performance of my 002 (it fried after a week). But I was so impressed with Digi's stand-up behavior in response to my customer service call that it negated any negative feelings, leaving me with mild 'warm fuzzies'.

I love my 002 - the second, working properly one, that is.
