error 2147213312 'Creative Collection'

I've seen a couple people have a similar error but with audio drives. Well my audio works fine, but the Creative Collection software is throwing an error when installing on my system.

I'm using Pro Tools LE 8 on Windows 7 Ultimate with an AMD Phenom 9650 Quad Core processor, 4GB RAM and 540 GB free hard drive space. (I have also downloaded the m-box audio drivers for windows 7)

At the moment I can record through the M-box Mini with my guitar fine, I just can't use any MIDI information. There are a few instruments on there, but none of them seem to do anything. I don't have Xpand2, Boom, BFD Lite seems to not be able to find '.dat2' i think it was.

I've been trying to figure this out for about 3 days now and not been able to get the creative collection software on my computer.

I get the same thing after I upgraded to 8.0.3, actually when I installed 8.0 with the Mbox2 Mini the creative collections kicked back an error but because I could use PT I didn't think nothing of it until upgrading to 8.0.3 and realizing that maybe I should have. lol

I have W7 and fought awhile to FINALLY get PT LE 8 working on my system so don't want to uninstall if I don't have to but not sure what to do. I took the DVD, box, and receipt back into Guitar Center and they said I couldn't get another copy I have to purchase another copy since it's been over their time frame (past a year) to exchange defective products. They said occasionally its "installer errors" (I believe something to do with cab2??) on the DVD and just buy another version... great. Hoping there's a better option since don't want to drop another $150.

Got it fixed now with the update from the Digidesign website, but I can't register my copy now because i registered it the first time and then uninstalled it >_<

does anyone know how to get the Creative collections pack to install on protools 8 le ? it errors out when initializing .

I got this one too when installing PT 8 LE.

First I had this problem "try to launch the setup file it says error performing inpage operation" which I worked around.

I suspect my DVD to be compromised with some glue from the carton, while I read here that there a some bad installer disks out there. What the exact issue is I can't determnie.

Anyway, I decided to give the installer another go (having quite some PC experience in my life I noticed things do not always make sense) and just check the Creative Collection (options to be installed) again and it ran again, this time without error.

So now I assume and hope it was installed correctly.

Since this is my first PT experience and I'm still setting up I do not yet know whether this is really the case.
