Export selected tracks as new session - all audio?

Hello folks,

I was just wandering - "export selected tracks as session" seems to copa all audio files - why is that (trying to save as PT9 session format).

Any ideas? Overlooked maybe?

Only works to a PT10 format session.

Ok, so how about this?

In Protools 10.3.5 , saving selected tracks as a ProTools 10 session (latest) correctly results in a session with the tracks in question. Huzza! I would expect to see only the files used in those tracks in the clip bin of the new session, but this is not the case. Choosing not to copy audio files, I tried toggling the main playlist only option, but it made no difference - the clip bin was full as of clips as the original session. Is this how the export function is supposed to work? Seems counterproductive if it is.

For kicks, I tried again this time choosing to copy the audio files - and that seemed to do the trick.

I hope that in ProTools 11 exporting with or without copying audio files results in a new session referencing only the audio used in the tracks therein.

More issues: importing a track via match tracks ALSO brings in all the audio clips from the source session. This is messed up.
