Default Pro Tools LE 48 tracks

Hey, I heard through the grapevine that PT was coming out in the very near future with Pro Tools LE 48 tracks. Some one on the inside told me about beta testing.

Has anyone else heard this?

Anyone involved in Beta testing is by contractual agreement not allowed to disclose, confirm, or deny such information publicly.

With the speed of native systems now-a-days, much be true. Hope the new version allows 2 LE interfaces to connect to one computer.

and yo.......what ever happened with the the info DIGI put out about the FWx firewire option???

Quote:
FWx FireWire Record/Playback Option
The FWx card provides a direct FireWire connection to record or playback up to 18 tracks simultaneously using a Pro Tools LE system on Windows XP (expanding to 32-tracks in 2005). For recording applications, this approach keeps the signal in the digital domain from the time it's first captured in the Stage Rack input. The resulting recording is a native Pro Tools LE session, ready for editing or review after the show is over by connecting a portable Digidesign Mbox, Digi 002, or Digi 002 Rack peripheral.

For playback applications, an original Pro Tools TDM or LE studio recording can be edited and mixed down to supplement a live performance.

For all we (are allowed to) know Nuk, that could be an option that only functions when connected to the digi venue.

Seems logical since that is the only way to get a lot of us 001 users to upgrade to a 002.

So I guess we can neither confirm nor deny this claim?
Well I certainly hope its true. At that point there would be Nothing to stop PT from being THE WORLDS GREATEST MUSIC WORKSTATION SOFTWARE!!

Man if this is true im totally stoked. 48 tracks will do me RIGHT! Digi will make me a very happy customer if they are in fact planning this. I love my 002r. But 32 tracks is never enough. I always run out when its time to do vocals. If this is true GO DIGI! Protools is by far the easiest most user friendly audio program ive used and this will only be the icing on the cake for me. Smart move if true. I will buy a copy of the software pronto. Consider it bought

They need to update the tracks just to keep up with other sequencer firms. ie logic express (the cheapest one) has upto 255 stereo tracks.. we're a long way behind with 32
