Delay until recording starts...
Hi,
I recently switched from my G4 to a G5 and from DIGI001/PT LE to a MAudioFW410 / PT M. Everything works fine except: whenever I want to record a track, the playback and recording button start to flash for about 3 seconds and then the recording starts. I thought it might be related to a pre-roll or something similar, but there is no pre-roll enabled... When I use punch-in there's no problem: the recording starts immediately. Any hint? Thomas |

Re: Delay until recording starts...
This is usually related to the amount of drive space allocated to recording. If you jump into the prefs and reduce to say 15 minutes this startup latency usually disappears. Or for a quick fix, highlight the area you wish to record for before starting the recording. This will nominate that space to PT, so it doesn't spend time thinking about where to place files the way it does with open ended recording. Does the new system have significantly more disk space?

Re: Delay until recording starts...
That's it! Thanks a lot for your help! Recording now starts immediately and it's much more fun working like that ;-)
