Static/White Noise
I'm having some trouble with some recording I've been
trying to do. I'm still fairly new with Pro Tools and I have a problem I constantly encounter. I have my Mbox 1 set up and I record with an SM57. My problem is that whenever I try to record a track, when the recording is rolling and I'm not playing, there is a very loud static. Yet when I strum a chord on my guitar, the static goes away and when the chord stops ringing, the static resumes. I have everything set up correctly that I know of, I assigned it to record from the proper input, I set my trim so that it's not peaking and everything else is in proper order. Does anyone have any advice that could remedy this? |

Re: Static/White Noise
Use the JUMP button below to post on the PTools LE forum where you see MBox listed. This forum is TDM, uses different hardware, and it's almost certainly a hardware issue (unless you have some extreme compression going on a track that brings up the background noise when the desired signal drops out).
