MIDI Keyboard>Protools>Redrum-Need Help
I've tried every configuration I can think of and I can't get from my midi keyboard to protools to redrum and out of the speakers or onto a track.
I would be eternaly greatful if someone could list each step to get this basic function working for me. I can get it to work as a standalone to Reason but not thru PT. I'll list my last config below. Keep in mind I tried probably 10 different ways. 1)Midi Keyboard to USB on laptop. 2)Midi Track w/Input to "All" and Output to "Redrum-10" 3)Aux Track with Reason as plug-in. 4)Rewire set to Output "Channel 10", Input "Bus 1", Output "Bus 3-4" 5)Audio Track INput set to "Bus 3", Output set to "Analog 1-2". 6)Redrum "Stereo Out L/R" to channel 1 of "Mixer". 7)Mixer "Aux 1 Left (Mono) out to channel 1 of "Hardware Interface. When I arm my midi track to record and hit my keyboard the level meter jumps. I get no sound or any activity otherwise. Please only answer this if you know the answer for certain. I appreciate anyone trying to help but to keep trying to "guess" at it has allready wasted hours. Thank you.

Re: MIDI Keyboard>Protools>Redrum-Need Help
you need to go down an octave or 2 on your keyboard.I just did this after reading your poat and couldnt get it to work.Had to pull out the manual.Redrum is assigned to the low c on a keyboard.
Its an octave below dr rex I believe.Happy thanksgiving!

Jeff Vivrette
Have you had a look at your Reason Preferences? Edit>Preferences>MIDI and check to see that MIDI Clock Sync has No MIDI Input selected and the same for Remote Control. Hope this helps. filosofem

Re: MIDI Keyboard>Protools>Redrum-Need Help
"4)Rewire set to Output "Channel 10", Input "Bus 1", Output "Bus 3-4""
Rewire set to Mix L- Mix R As far as I can see because I do know the answer, you don't need any of the rest, really. Do remember to arm the midi track. BTW: It'll be alright. |
