Default Delete PT 8LE before installing PT 10 crossgrade?

I just purchased PT 11 Crossgrade from LE.
I want to install only PT 10 for now because my 2008 mac Pro won't run PT 11.
I read that I should UNINSTALL my previous version of Pro tools (PT 8 LE) before installing the new version of pro tools.
Is this true, do I have to uninstall PT 8 LE before installing PT 10, even though I have a crossgrade?

I have a Mac running OS 10.6.8, which version of PT 10 can I run. There are 3 in the download links, 10.3.8, 10.3.9 and 10.3.10.

Thanks, will do!
Which uninstall would you recommend, SAFE or CLEAN?

OK. After Uninstall I still see the old DIGIDESIGN AND PRO TOOLS folders.
Should I just drag them to the trash?
Are they of any further use?

I'm using Pt 11 pt 10 pt on mac pro and 1.1 & 2.1 2006-2007. I installed the Mac 10.8.5 for mac pro 1.1 and 2.1 and installed 11.3.1 Protool 03/10/10 and PT. Very good.
