Default Sync I/O messing with 192\'s dig output w/workspace

Hi Gang,
Since installing PT 7.2.1 on an intel 2x3Ghz (4GB RAM, OS 10.4.8)
When I try to audition files in workspace (say a set of FX or some Music Libraries)
the 192 stops outputting sound and digital reference out the Dig cards. I clock my console (Yamaha DM2000) off of the 192's AES output 1-2
every time I click on the play icon the console freaks out, my Digital clock monitor freaks out, and I cant hear a thing.....
This is when my session is set to SYNC I/O, Video Ref (I send black burst to the whole facility) and everything is locked correctly.
Now,
If I set my session to 192 INTERNAL, no problem what so ever, none.
Has anyone had this problem?
is there a firmware to setup for the Sync I/O
Thank You

Why not use the word clock output of the SYNC I/O to clock the DM2000? It may resolve your problem, and word clock is more stable than an embedded AES clock as well.

this is exactly how we do it w/ our DM1000. it works up to 96K so far...haven't tested
it beyond that.

every once in a while, the console forgets what it's doing and i have to go into my
PT session and "jog" my clock source setting. we typically use "internal" as our
clock...so i'll flip it to "sync i/o" and back to "internal" and it seems to send
the correct message to the DM1000 (the DM1000 was muting the audio when
it was glitching...but the clock-toggle clears it right up)

hope this helps,
marty.
