focusrite octopre or mackie onyx 800r
Which preamp do you think is better of the two. I am going to buy one of the two and want to know which one

The real question is what type of music are you recording. What is your focus and what are your needs.
I personally would take the Focusrite, but I am not a Mackie pre guy. If I had the option I would save and buy a better 2 or 4 channel and build from that. ISA 428 then get the digital card and add 4 more later. Different flavors versus being stuck to 8 exact pre's. I did that before with the Digimax LT and later sold it and upgraded ALOT.
