Default Renaming memory locations whilst playing moves them???

I find myself renaming memory locations whilst playing Pro Tools using the following method...

(copied from the reference guide)

In the Marker ruler, Start-click (Windows)
or Control-click (Mac) the Marker to open
the Edit Memory Location dialog without
locating the insertion point at the marker
location.

Trouble is, when I hit return to leave the Edit Memory Location dialogue, it is MOVED to a new location -- the place where the playhead was when I hit return. What's the sense in that?

Can I turn this off?

Please help : )

Thanks a million
Matt

You're making yourself clear. I also don't understand this functionality and frequently screw up the positions of important markers in my session doing exactly what you described. Markers are an area where I think Digi needs to expand the feature set.

Best,

I've been bitten by this bug too and sometimes at the most inopportune moments...

This is yet another indicator that PT's marker functionality needs some serious attention.

Brilliant thanks for your replies, i can tick that one off.

How annoying. Where's the proper 'suggestion box' for this sort of thing?

This has already been logged, so no need to report it elsewhere.
