Default From PC to Mac

Hi all,

I have 2 questions. I am now using Pro Tools LE 7.3 on a PC/Digi002R for a few years, but it starts to act really weird and after long consideration I want to go a Mac.

My questions
1. I understand I have to update Pro Tools when I buy a new Mac, due to the OS. I started with 6.4, and all my updates went through downloads and were PC updates. When I buy the 8 file, I can install Pro Tools without a previous version of PR being installed, right? As long as the hardware is connected? Or am I wrong?

2.Anyone of you have any major problems running PT on one of the new generation Imacs? I know Mac Pro will give better performances, but the system will only be used for small projects, so the Pro is a bit too pricey in this case (and the Imac just looks really great:))

thank you very much for al your help,

Brett

1. yes the PT8 installer ins a standalone installer. No previous PT installation necessary.
2. ANY Mac nowadays is qualified and powerful enough to run PT.
