No sound out of tweeters
I turned on my audio set up that I have been using for some time (a sony amplifier connected to two KLH passive monitors....connected to the MBox via it's headphone jack) and everything sounded "dull". I couldn't figure out what was wrong. It's not just Pro Tools, I tried iTunes, a DVD, all had the same dull audio.
I finally put my ear next to both the right and left tweeters and there is absolutely no sound coming out of either of them. I was wondering what could cause this? Is it my computer? My amplifier? My speakers? Just think it would be weird for both of them to go silent at the same time. Nothing was played through them loud enough to blow them and they were perfect last night. Anyone have any ideas? |

Re: No sound out of tweeters
play some kind of source through the Sony that is NOT from the computer (ipod, cd player, vcr, etc..). That will narrow it down to the amp or the speakers..

Re: No sound out of tweeters
It must be the speakers then. I tried a couple FM stereo stations on the built in tuner and still no tweeter. Okay, so it is the speakers then. Does this have anything to do with using the Bomb Factory BF76 plug-in? I used it last night and all sound cut out (got too distorted or something, was also using alot of echo). I was just messing around with it...tweaking it, what have you, to see what exactly it could do. I guess I found out, the hard way, it can blow your tweeters!

Re: No sound out of tweeters
It could be the amp too... Is it a receiver? They will often have some kind of EQ presets, etc... Try to return it to it's defaults..

Re: No sound out of tweeters
Yeah, it's the tweeters. I switched out the ruined ones with some cheapo ones from some old bookshelf speakers I had laying around and they work. Well, does anyone know a good place in Studio City/Sherman Oaks to get tweeters from?
