Default Mini Grand sustain pedal punch issue

Hi,
As a new PT 2021 / HDX there is one little issue I've encountered that is driving me bonkers. I often use the Mini Grand as the piano for scratch, template recording in sessions with clients. Low latency, low CPU usage, etc. But there seems to be an issue with punching in & the sustain pedal. If you punch in on a MIDI or Instrument track with Mini Grand, any subsequent sustain pedals controller breakpoints get inserted, but it stays permanently on. When I lift my foot off the pedal, it does not return to the "off" position. Sort of maddening. This issue can also just as mysteriously go away after messing around for a while. I think it's just the Mini Grand. I tried using the Electric Grand instrument and that worked fine as far as sustain pedal recording. Anyone else notice this? I've attached a screenshot. You can see where the punch is, and where the sustain pedal stops going to the "off" position (In many years of using the Mini Grand in PT 10HD with my same MIDI keyboard I never once had this issue...)
EDIT: Seems if you punch while the pedal is in the "ON" position, it is unable to go back to the "OFF" position, even though the breakpoints are recorded. If I manually move a pedal "OFF" breakpoint just prior to where I am punching, it works fine.

It is a long standing bug and sometimes you can get rid of it by toggling midi merge on and off

Ok, thanks. Never happened in PT 10 HD, but that was obviously many versions ago...! I'm a little disappointed that having jumped straight from PT 10 to 2021, I was hoping MIDI would have gotten less clunky and more user friendly in PT. But it seems about the same...
