Default Re: Differences Between Eleven Rack & Eleven Plugin

I have a Line6 X3 live and it has the ability to record both effected tracks and clean tones simultaneously. I'm thinking about the eleven plugin also but it seems a little pricey. 5 Benjamin's for software is a serious decision. The X3 is very capable of reproducing nice guitar tones as well and I'm wondering if I would see $500 worth of benefit.

I also do not care for the rental option. Even though it is more cost effective, I would prefer to own it.

Any thoughts on the X3 vs ELEVEN plugin would be welcomed!

Thanks,
jab

You should be able to easily buy a used license for the 11 plugin here on the forums or on Ebay. Much cheaper that way.

there may even been some in the Buy&Sell section here on the DUC.

I got my license for $75 and that was about 3 or so years ago.

If you are going to spend $500, spend $618 and just get the Eleven Rack which comes with Pro Tools 11/10

And unless the promotion has changed the new 11R was coming with a free copy of the Eleven Plugin and ReverbOne plus a copy of some older plugs Telray and Mooger Fooger. or something like that.

I bought several at 75.00 since at one point I had three systems. Its a good plug but I would never pay full retail for it.

The plugin deal ended, but there is a possibility that you might still get them, it depends on if any licenses are left.

The plug is still available as a bonus at SW for those who need to get the upgrade to the support plan. Which I still am thinking about, but probably will.

I like the thought of getting the plug since I have the 11R in my live rig and usually don't feel like digging it out. But, good points made on how the CPU doesn't get taxed if you use the hardware...
