Default Somewhat old school question, PT 7.4 to 8

Hi I need you guys' help please.

It has been so long since I have upgraded and so much has transpired that I have totally forgotten some stuff about upgrading.

I have PT 8 in my MacBook Pro running 10.5.7. No problems there and I see I can upgrade to 10.5.8.

HOWEVER............... I have PT 7.4 in my studio MacPro Quad running 10.4.9.

I will use the Combo updater to go to 10.5.8 and I will use the disc to install PT8............

What I am worried about are all my plug in's..specifically big installs like Reason4 , Sibelius 5, Garritan Personal Orchestra, Garritan Jazz and Big Band, Ozone 3, Drumcore, Miroslav Philharmonik, Classik Studio Reverb, Sonik Synth, OMNISHERE...OMG a 4 hour install............

Will I lose all these?

Do I need to remove the plug in alias folder to my desktop?

Can someone steer me straight on all of this? This is one of the reasons I have not upgraded so far. When I bought the MBox Mini witrh PT8 for the laptop, I had to install all those and it seriously took forever....time I do not really have readily on tap. If so I am going to pick a different day to do this...maybe over the weekend.

If I am good to go and it retains all the plugs, I will do it tonite.

Thanks.

Hopefully U don't have to get to know Tamara She's an honorary DUC'ster

As for having both on the same computer, well yes u can BUTTT, they cannot be on the same OS/Drive which basically means u'd have to create a new partition & re-install there.. I would grab another drive identical to what u have, get Casper or Acronis to clone ur system drive & THEN proceed with the new 8 install that way u still have ur perfectly working system on another drive so @ any givin moment u can pop it back in & not miss a click...
