Sampletank 2.05 released with MAJOR updates.

IK Multimedia is pleased to annouce the release of the Sampletank 2.05 update. This update is a major step forward in stability for Win/OS9/OSX users. We recommend downloading this update as soon as you can. (Upon early release, please be patient, our servers may be busy). Here are the new fixes in 2.05

Updates:

- Occasional system crashes loading sounds or tweaking parameters -> Fixed
- SampleTank 2 had some memory leaks -> Fixed
- Effects are now always unloaded when an instrument is unloaded
- Crash in Pro Tools OSX with two ST2 instances (while closing one) -> Fixed
- Crash in Pro Tools OSX while changing PT tracks midi channel -> Fixed
- Click at the beginning of sequence playback on certain systems -> Fixed
- Incorrect output assignment on certain AU hosts (i.e. Metro) -> Fixed
- Crash in latest Metro (and possibly other hosts) using AU
- No more midi jittering in PT OSX when recording realtime midi tracks

Can anyone attest to the stability of this most recent update? I have been waiting for a stable ST2 version to finally replace my hardware sampler(VP-9000) particularly in formant shifting. So, any positive 2.05 feedback? Thanks.

BRAVO IK!

I purchased ST 2XL, installed the update(2.05), LOVED the sounds, bass(acoustic, electric!), percussion(!!), synths, EFFECTS(!), variety, ease of use, STRETCH engine(!!), stability, and all of this running on a DP 533MHZ G4 with no problems and rather efficient CPU usage! Have not tried loading multiple ST instruments for obvious CPU limiting reasons(see older G4..), but I'm OK with using one instance at a time. It does exactly what I needed for my work in PT LE - so convenient! I have retired my VP-9000! All sampling, instrument building is now a PT insert away - like I always hoped for! Again, BRAVO!

(Drum kits and instruments assigned to a specific number of keys(range) should be highlighted on ST's Mini keyboard for quick locating - no big deal though)

2.05 runs much better on my system (G5 1.6, PTLe 6.2.3, Mbox). I'm still experiencing crashes with a few Sonic Synth sounds (some of the guitars), but overall the update is good thing. The crackling in some of the sounds is gone, the stretch seems to work better. ST2 now runs almost as good in PT as it does in Logic.

I have to say I was about to throw in the towel on these knuckleheads at IK. They could care less that they wasted a lot of peoples time and money.....but the update works much better. Less crashing and better overall performance, but when are we going to be able to import Samplecell files? This shouldn't be such a tough issue to tackle!!! C'mon guys....it ALMOST works as was promised by the advertising...as if that's too much to expect.

its still a major CPU hog - with four instruments loaded PT
feels as slow as molasses with the system spiking every few seconds,
even when i turn off the effects. Whats the deal? I can run two to
three times that amount with Reason/Rewire and still use half the CPU.
ST 1.0 also used much less CPU though the timing sucks. Avoid...

Not state of the art - but PT 6.2.3 and reason run like
a dream and i use them all day long for my songwriting work
professionally. Sampletank 2 just appears to be badly coded
compared to v1 - which was a bit cpu hungry but still usable.
ST2 (2.0.5 included) is the only plug in that has cause kernal
panics as well...end of moan.

Sorry you are having troubles with your Sample Tank and your configuration.
I would be more than happy to help you so your configuration and Sample tank gives you no more problems.
Sample tank 2.0.5 is the latest version, make sure you have it by hitting the lock button on your Sample Tank.
This turns the sample tank around so that you can check the vesion you are using. look above the AC power cord....

thanks - but i dont think any amount of system tweaks are going
to improve ST2s cpu usage - rendering it unusable for me
even with only a handful of presets going, seeing as
my Reason/PT combo is so efficient and stable i dont see my
configuration is the real problem iether.
