Frames on Video tracks not displayed in 2022.4

I immediately noticed that my video on the video tracks themselves, had disappeared. The region is there and it plays back in the video window, but on the track, there are no actual video frames in the region.

Do you have the video track set to blocks or frames?

Tried here - though I am on macOS 10.15.7 - and the video frames show correctly. If you can't solve this we might want to get a session and short video file from you to test.

In going to System Preferences/Security And Privacy/Privacy/Accessibility and checking the box next to AEServer, it remedied the problem. Hope this makes sense and helps.

The one thing that has not changed is this…..

When I (Offline) Bounce Mix with Video, if I have multiple clips to bounce on the timeline, if I do not take the video offline and then back online between bounces, it will crash the video engine.

After having run many different tests on this, I can only surmise that there is a memory leak type behavior. It seems that between clips it is failing to purge the previous clip from memory.

It is kind of a pain for those of us that also do a lot of commercial campaign work.

I have reported the problem to Avid several times, with no resolution to follow. Perhaps something to move up the ladder. [mention]jeffro [/mention]

New update! After many attempts and fixes, I changed the output to h265. At that point, the offline bounce with video is stable. Not sure why the h264 output was stalling the video engine, as the original files were also h264. That being said, that was the fix. Cheers

Took me a while to figure it out. After several calls to tech support, I realized that it was unlikely that I would get any information that I myself am not aware of. More information in here.
