El Capitan 10.11.2 causes Pro Tools 12.4 GUI Lag and Glitches

When i press Play PT play head and general GUI goes all laggy and glitchy when I move my mouse around edit window
In Yosemite everything is OK

Yes. I know exactly what you mean. It's a no go for me. I have rolled back to Yosemite. No probs. El Crappitan is just no good at the moment for some users. Mainly GUI issues on edit screen and lots of CPU pop ups!
I suggest Yosemite for know. In fact probably for at least the next 6 months or so 🏼

Same thing here.. el capitan 10.11.2.. when moving my mouse around. I haven't encountered any crashes yet though, so hopefully this laggy stuff will be my only issue until it's sorted out.. well IF it ever will be fixed! Btw so far im loving PT 12.4

Yes 12.4 is nice. I have reported all my CPU & GUI lagg issues with Avid support. Especially as I'm paying for it! I suggest if everyone does this the bugs will "hopefully" get fixed a little quicker.

It's Apple. No company can keep up with Apple's perpetual beta releases when they break/change things with each one. They have had 4 beta releases since dropping el capitan. No one with a stable rig should be anywhere near this train to nowhere.

I won't touch El Capitan until PT makes a version that will only work with El Capitan and up. Whenever that time comes for me to get a new computer it will be a PC/Windows.

I think AVID can fix it.
Same problem was in Reaper

I'm on a 5k Dell monitor and the lag hasn't been too bad at all except on their Pro series of plugs. Avid will fix all of this and frankly I think El Cap will be the last OS update I do until I'm forced to upgrade in the future.

Other than the minor lag issue, PT 12.4 has been absolutely rock solid for me. I LOVE the commit and freeze functions. Huge time saver for me.

Apple makes betas of their new OS available to developers for a significant amount of time before the actual release, and El Capitan has been out for a decent amount of time now. With all the money we're giving Avid now for our support plans, they have no excuse not to be on top of this.

Open a support case if you haven't already. Hopefully if more people open support tickets it will get them to focus on it. At the very least maybe we'll get a response on when it will be fixed.
