panning issues with recent mac pro upgrade

I recently upgrade to a mac pro tower, quad-core xeon 2.66ghz, snow leopard, 8gbs ram. I use the 003 factory mix console, 8.0.3 upgrade.

I just discovered that my panning functions aren't working. that is, i'll pan something hard right but the audio stays mono, even though the mix window says otherwise.

Its the only issue i've had with this mac so far.

any ideas?

Do you get that using headphones plugged into the 003 itself, too? If not, it's a wiring issue. If so, don't know.

I have a similar problem...when I want to make a hard pan left or right, there's an "signal leak" in the opposite channel. I've tried this in 2 different CPU's and 2 different mbox's.

In the mixing screen it appears to be ok, no signal in the opposite.

It happens with headphones and monitor out
