Panning Issues
OK, we have the new system set up. Mainly PT9 with an iMac 3.06 Core Duo and M-Audio Fast Track Ultra 8r. Everything seems to be working ok, but when we try to pan any of the tracks (whether imported from M-Powered 7.3 or just recorded) nothing happens. You can see the knob turning and the value changing, but the output doesn't change. Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it?

Re: Panning Issues
Create a Master Fader, solo something, pan it hard left, make sure you only see it on the Master Fader's left meter... check you don't have your external monitor path mono'd

Or plug a set of headphones in if possible.

Re: Panning Issues
Hello Rail,
Thank You for your response. I created a Master Fader, and yes the pan does work correctly. However, I am still hearing playback from both monitors despite being panned hard left or right. Visually everything is correct, but that is all. External monitor path... not sure what that is exactly, but it seems likely it is a monitor problem and not a PT problem. Thanks so much for your help. |

Re: Panning Issues
Did a check of the Fast Track Ultra 8R to see if the problem was there.
In PT9= Master Fader - yes. Solo'd track - yes. Panned hard left and then hard right during playback. In Fast Track the Software Return showed the pan, but the Master Out was still in stereo. Hmm. So, that's where we are now. |

Re: Panning Issues
Alright... looks like the problem is fixed.
In the M-Audio Fast Track Ultra 8R we brought up the monitor mixer. None of the software returns were panned, they were all centered (stereo). So I panned each channel left/right, went back into the session and tested the audio and panning works just super great now. Yay. Hopefully this is all solved now (seems to be). Thanks so much. |
