Default Do I need the Avid Downloads folder?

I'm trying to clean up some clutter on my system disc. I have a hidden folder C:/AvidDownloads

I assume that this is used for the Avid Application Manager. Do I need the data in this folder? Can I delete it? Or link the AvidDownlaods folder to a different folder on another drive?

Yup, that's where AppMan stores it's downloads. You can delete it, but it will reappear if you use AppMan again.

Use symbolic links to implement folder redirection to relocate the contents elsewhere.

The Complete Guide to Creating Symbolic Links (aka Symlinks) on Windows

As an observation it never ceases to amaze me how many times this is omitted as a preferences option in applications especially those using large data stores, iTunes being one of the worst offenders.

Cmon Avid developers add it to the Application Manager and break the mold!
