Plug in maps wont save??? PT 8

Whats up with Midi Learn?.. I can get the whole instrument mapped (Xpand2, for example) and save it, settings and custom map.... Open new Xpand... nothing stays mapped... What is up? Is it 8 or me? seems like Ive tried everthing??? anyone maps saving with PT8??
