How likely are you to recommend Avid to others?

I personally recommend Avid Protools for recording audio and Avid Media composer for video editing.

I buy new computers every 3-5 years and I am ok with the yearly subscription.
I really don't want a vintage computer, just maybe just vintage microphones and preamps.

After being on Pro Tools since version 7 I’m letting my Ultimate plan lapse in July. I’m about 98% switched over to Luna. Besides a few things I need from Pro Tools it works well for me and the development is super quick. I much rather pay for add-ons to Luna then spend $399 a year for basically nothing.

I am in the same boat as you are. Although Luna is a new Recording System, it has most of the standard DAW features that I require and UA is adding new user-requested features at breakneck speed. I very much like Luna’s dedication to building analog emulation into the program.

In addition, I do mot believe that that I receive enough value to justify paying Avid the annual support cost for ProTools. So, I will not be renewing this year. Therefore, I do mot recommend ProTolls to others.
