I have a bus in Solo safe mode (so greyed out). Is there a way to put in Solo in place so that I can quickly listen to the instruments that feed it

You could group the feeding tracks and solo them, but you'll have to enable/disable the group all the time. I use another trick; I make a vca fader with the group, and keep the group disabled, that way I can solo the vca and still be able to solo/mute the individual tracks in the group. Hope this makes sense. Very useful. Essential part of my workflow.

The ability hear everything that feeds a bus by soloing the bus itself is a feature we've been asking for for about a decade. Sure would be handy.

Why not make it a routing folder?

Of course. I forgot about those.
I tried them a little when they were introduced, but they kept forgetting open/collapsed state and I haven't missed them since. But shure, routing folder will do the job.

Doesn't this already exist? I use HDx with a DCommand and Xmon, so maybe it's different if you don't. In the output tab of the i/o setup, set the AFL/PFL to the same output as your monitor out. Then you can solo what ever you want, auxes, reverb returns, etc...

That works! But I had to set the AFL Solo Mode. And in this mode also the normal BUS works (thank you to let me discover this....
![]() Now I wonder: What difference is there between a Bus and a Routing Folder? it seems to me that they behave in the same way. Don't they?
