Default error -6086 H/W Buffer Size??????? HELP!!!!!!

what do i do? i hooked up a 200 gig external firewire drive. i partitioned it and formatted it. i try to record a session in pro tools 6.7, and for the first time ever...i have a problem! it stops every time a couple of minutes in and says..."The operating system held off interupts for too long. If this occurs often, try increasing the H/W buffer size in the play back engine" "error -6086" or something like that. it only happened when i hooked the drive up. disconnected the drive....and it works fine. what's going on???? help!!!!!

What kind of drive is it? Does it adhere to the Digidesign FireWire Hard Drive requirements? (Specifically the Oxford 911 chipset part)
