Workspace no drives
Hey guys,
Just installed the latest pro tools 10 on windows 7 service pack 1. Everything installed correctly including mbox and eucon artist mix. Pro tools runs flawlessly so im pretty sure the install was all ok. The problem is workspace browser will not show any drives, i.e. catalogs are there but nothing else. I can save to any of the 3 local drives on my computer and play back from them no worries. When i bring up the disk space it is recognizes all my drives even external drives and usb sticks and is happy to tell me the remaining audio record time i have left on them all so its not that pro tools isn't seeing the drives. I've also tried with all external hardware removed. The drives are 2 western digital black drives, a velociraptor, a segate external and various brands of usb thumb drives. All internal drives are formatted in ntfs so im pretty sure i haven't just got unlucky and bought 7 incompatible drives! I have trashed the prefs a few times but bar doing a full install again (not sure why it would change anything anyway) im fast running out of ideas as to how to get workspace working. Also forgot to mention the drives im playing back off etc are labelled m: and n: so i dont think that should have anything to do with it. Thanks in advance for any help you can give. |

Re: Workspace no drives
Hey sanger, I had the same issue after upgrading to PT10. Try choosing "Run as Administrator"

Re: Workspace no drives
Bump for myself!
Just tried to use the trasher http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=316863 But the program cant find the databases. Prefs trashed fine but the data bases cant be found so that could be the root of my problems. Anyone got any clues??? |

Re: Workspace no drives
Wow, thank you for this info! I've been trying to figure this one out since yesterday. Do you know if there's a way to set "run as administrator" as the default so whenever I open PT it runs that way?
Thanks for the help either way, though!!! I was mystified as to where my drives had gone, and now they're back. :) |
