Trimmer tool won't trim MIDI regions' right side
My trimmer tool is suddenly unable to trim MIDI regions from the right side. It trims from the left side just fine, but when I try to trim from the right it just selects a portion of that region. I'm using the multi-tool setting and when I approach the end of a region, the trimmer tool appears just fine but is ineffectual. Did I unwittingly change some setting?
I'm running PT 8.0.4 on a MacBook Pro, OSX 10.5.8 |

Does it work if you just select the trimmer tool instead of the (not so) smart tool?

Are you in Grid mode? If so try going to slip.

Or an even easier way is to make sure you're in a-z mode. Then put the selector tool where you wan to trim and hit "s" on your keyboard. Or for trimming the start of a region hit "a".

Re: Trimmer tool won't trim MIDI regions' right side
I have encountered the same problem as MadeToFeel has described. Has anyone discovered the solution?

Re: Trimmer tool won't trim MIDI regions' right side
Hello,
Yestarday I had the same problem, I took 1 hour to find the solution!. Maybe the MIDI region where you can't trim the note is affected by any MIDI-Real Time parameter. Select the region and open the MIDI-Real Time Properties Window by the Event menu. If you have any properties affecting it must be in green color. Press in the property button for deactivate this property, and probably you could trim the note. Later, you can re-activate the property. If you can't, you can additionally try to make a Restore Performance from the Event | Midi Operations Menu, but it is a very dangerous way. Excuse my bad English!. Regards. Quim |

Re: Trimmer tool won't trim MIDI regions' right side
Ok I know this is an old post but I signed up for this forum just so I could answer for anyone else that comes across this problem.
I had the exact same issue and the solution for me was setting the main time scale to bars/beats. Once I did this I could trim the end of the MIDI region. |
