Eucon Ipad App!

No it doesn't exist. . . but it should!

Ipads are the right size to where the next artist series product could be an Ipad dock with a controller app that integrates eucon. The dock could have knobs on the sides like a bigger MC control.

And THEN when you wanted to grab your ipad, get up and walk across the room, you could have a page that works like AC-7 pro or V-control.

This with a Mix and a Transport would be perfect to me. Especially with other manufactures like spectrasonics making OMNI TR it would be great to see the touch screen part usable for multiple things like this.

Also it would be cool if transport v2 used the concept of a 3d mouse, with push/pull and joystick style integrating on screen navigation. Eucon Ipad + MC mix + Transport would be my ideal controller.

DTS/Euphonix. . . this would seriously sell like crazy. Especially if eucon integrated a way for plugin manufactures to create touch friendly gui's that could also use the hardware knobs for fine adjustments.

Throw some buttons across the bottom sell it for 600-800 with out the ipad but including the app and it's a done deal...You would absolutely crush the competition.

Ryan I agree with you that an iPad app would be a great addition to the Artist Line - but then it should be used in an additional way, not close to what the existing units already do... Just the regular iPad used in a new way. I already use my setup with the Airport Extreme/Time Capsule so in my mind it would integrate seemlesly.

DTS - read my other post and you will find things to improve. (The little raisers on the backside folds all the time for instance - very irritaiting)... You never answered the post on how to remedy the flying fadercaps - cotton, superglue or what???

They don't fold if you flip up the supporting metal tabs correctly and lock them into place

Using mc transport, with latest eucon driver, eucon often hangs and needs to be force quit. The functionality of the transport is a bit counter intuitive (compared to how I learned).

When using the soft keys the mouse becomes inactive. It seems like you have to select a soft key two or there times before the new function kicks in, then you need to deselect to have the mouse return.

Also some of the functions don't work. Such as the assignable knob.

Recently added v control pro with the ipad, but I now realize I have to pick between mc transport or v control.


Happy that eucon finally made it to pro tools hope it becomes as integrated as it is in logic...

I would love to see them replace the MC Control with and iPad control dock w/ encoders.

If the iPad w/ EuCon replaced the poor quality screen on MC Control it would be awesome.

I have had 4 MC Controls (3, v2) and all of the v2 had flickering screens. Would be awesome for something like this:

Found an App that works great and integrates well with Pro Tools - Air Display. If you already have an Ipad2, then do the experiment and say what you think - it's cheap anyway compared to everything else we have bought... (There is an evaluation on Youtube that you can watch before you download)
