PTHD for Windows -- bizarre Edit Window behavior
When working in the Edit Window, wherever I click my cursor (with Select Tool), the playlist display shifts so that the cursor is now centered on the screen. So I can't double-click a region away from the center of the screen to select it, since each click just shuffles the display and my cursor ends up parked on the wrong clip, centered on the screen.
Has anyone noticed this? I've worked for years with PTHD Mac and have never seen this. I've played with all the scrolling options, etc. and nothing seems to change. This is REALLY slowing me down. God, I hope this facility I'm working at gets with it and buys a Mac. Please advise if you have any insight on this. |

Re: PTHD for Windows -- bizarre Edit Window behavior
This behavior isn't happening over here. Check your prefs. Maybe even start over and trash your prefs.
Good Luck, Brandon

Re: PTHD for Windows -- bizarre Edit Window behavior
I have been experiencing the same thing and It is random in various sessions. I go to trim a region and it Centers the Screen and takes me to the region Start, Zoomed in so i cannot see what I am editing anymore! It is the most frustrating Pro Tools Experience!!!!!!!!!!! makes it Impossible to edit, what ever setting has been introduced in the last few Updates is the most Ridiculous and useless setting available. I use PT 80 Hours a week most every week and this is the thing that Drags me down and wants to Kick the Computer. I have tried Switching every setting and it is just random, restart PT and it is gone..for awhile... it also Minimises the tracks randomley and when I click on a track it randomly Zooms in and centers the Screen so what i wanted to see is gone. This is killing me.... Terrible and Frustrating!

In Preferences>Editing - uncheck 'Zoom Toggle Follows Edit Selection'.

Re: PTHD for Windows -- bizarre Edit Window behavior
I dont have that Checkbox in my Version 7.3.1 CS5
It is a random problem anyway with out changing anything it will just happen and makes any kind of editing a nightmare.
