The live performance/large gatherings portion of the music business is obviously very affected by this.

However, most of us do either music or post and are capable of working from home. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised to see recorded music/audio become more popular since so many people will be stuck at home.

Music industry, we're actually among the expendables.
Historically, the music/entertainment business has usually done better when the rest of the economy was doing poorly. Why? People were looking for something to distract them from their troubles. While live performances in person are out of the question, there are plenty of ways a person can consume music or film from home during this crisis, thanks to the internet.

There's a small-ish finnish metal band whose tour had to be canceled.
In order to recoup the lost revenue they are going to rent a venue, film a gig there with multiple cameras, give the thing a professional mixing treatment and release the whole thing as perk of a crowdfunding campaign for 20€.
Awesome idea, and they announced that campaign yesterday and already raised nearly 4000€.
People are getting creative.

Insults have no place here, and there are other forums out there for discussing politics.

Reminder: This thread is here to discuss...

"Is the Coronavirus pandemic affecting your business?"

We understand this is a complicated topic right now, so will try one last time before closing the thread.

Before replying to this thread...
1. Read the thread title to decide if your reply is related
2. Make sure there are no personal insults in your reply

Keep in mind that there are other more appropriate places on the internet to discuss politics and medical topics.

Thank you.

I've been out of work for over 6 months.

Last last weekend I had my first gig since being sent home from the tour. running the in-stadium audio for a college football game. I have four more games scheduled through the end of the year, a day and a half each. And nothing else on the horizon.

I don't know when or if our tour will start back up. It will be next year if it does.

Until then I've started learning video production and am trying to get into doing rea estate video and photography.
