Faster action after scroll

How do I get a faster response when I scroll audio with the mouse (using ctrl key) and stop the cursor. There's a big lag - like one second - before I'm able to play. How do I optimize my settings to have the fastest workflow?

I'm on 10.2 - TDM - on a MacPro with 16 GB Ram - and a fast HD.

I have speed up some features by disconnecting the Ethernet port.. If you are using it.... It seemed to really speed up a lot.. from playback triggering to editing... I then tried the "other" port on the Mac Pro and it worked fine though.. so maybe it was just a bad port in my machine. I have also speed things up by disabling Bluetooth and Wireless internet.
