Cannot Get Grid Lines Pref & Timeline not working

Hello,

I cannot get grid lines to show up.

The PREFERENCE is checked in Prefs.

When I click on the Bars & Beats Timeline
only a quarter note grid will show. No matter what the
grid value is set to.

This grid is grey in color instead of the normal blue.

Any ideas? Anyone seen this? BYW I am not zoomed into sample level or anyhing.

I trashed prefs and restarted to the same issue.

Guess I have to fess up.

I was running a class and didn't notice the student had clicked out of GRID mode. All is working fine. The pressure got to me. I'm so glad that I'm not a veterinarian or something where careless mistakes really matter.

It would absolutely kill me to have to tell someone "Im sorry...fluffy didn't make it."
