Had a friend of mine that was using a Samsung DLP, but I think it was a 42". It didn't cut off anything, but the resolution was weird IMO.

I've seen dell 30" used. massive displays. For me a big screen just gets in the way of the speakers I'm trying to hear. So, I went with 2 22" 16 X 9 lcds tucked under and behind the pro control.
Best,
Brandon

I have one room that is using a splitter to run a 47" 1080p LCD and a 22" 1050 monitor

I use an Apple 30" that is way big enough for me. The LCD's that I have seen in other studios always look blurry and the resolution always looks off.

Yeah, I just recommend dual monitors for a couple reasons. You can split them apart when doing surround sound. You can split tasks (PT on one side, internet porn on the other), etc. Tried the TV thing a while back and just looked weird...not to mention distant.

I run a Sharp Aquos 42" on my HD rig. The trick to running large screens is that they be true 1080p. It gives you 1920x1080 resolution, and as long as the monitor/screen is such, you will not get ends cut off. I ran the pictured system on my old G5 PPC and now on my Mac Pro as well. While the screen image looks not-so-great in the photograph, trust me when I say in reality, the image is absolutely crisp, clean and gorgeous as can be. I always get compliments on it.

It looks just as clean and clear as the Apple 30" cinema, but bigger. Granted, the 30" can go higher-res, but with a screen this size, you wont be sitting 2 feet from it, and it WILL look just as amazing.
